Course Description

As of January 1, 2024, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) will require most legal entities, domestic or foreign, to report their beneficial ownership information (BOI). New LLCs or corporations filed after the new year have 90 calendar days to submit this new filing requirement. Learn the ins and outs of the BOI filing to help your business-owner clients avoid non-compliance and strict penalties.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define what a BOI report is and identify which types of entities have to submit a report to the FinCEN

  • Name the 23 business exemption types listed within the FinCEN’s reporting rules that do not have to file a BOI

  • List filing due dates for both new and existing companies

  • Identify details needed to properly complete and file a BOI
