Taxpayer First Act is designed to strengthen taxpayer rights, particularly with appeals, enhance customer service (long-term), improve information technology and cybersecurity, protect and encourage more whistle-blowing, and improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of the IRS. The IRS Appeals Officer will be more independent. Seizures of assets will be more restricted. There will be more e-filing and e-payments. This course will deal with the top ten changes.

Course Objectives:


  • Recognize how appeals will be more effective and independent

  • Identify greater protections for whistle-blowers leading to more cases

  • Understand e-filing requirements for tax-exempt organizations

  • Learn about potential acceptance of credit cards for tax payments
